Since decades, Lundahl Sound Systems has been on a quest for the ultimate sound experience.
In pursuit of perfection our sound systems are comprising the very latest development in all aspects of the signal chain, ranging from material science to algorithm development.
The back-bone of Lundahl Sound Systems is our range of loudspeakers. We partner with technology and innovation leaders around the globe to build high-end sound systems around our uniquely designed and silent cabinets. If we cannot find an optimal solution that can be used or re-engineered to meet the high requirements that we set forth, we will develop our own solution.
All Lundahl Sound Systems are designed and engineered for constant amplitute and constant phase. This means that all sounds will reach your ears with the intended sound pressure level. In addition, all sounds, whether it is a high pitch symbal crash or a low frequency contra bass, will reach your ears at the exact same moment in time. We call this design concept “Lundahl True Fidelity” (LTF).
Together with a carefully engineered system design, including typical Lundahl ingredients such as e.g. extremely silent cabinet design, steep cross-overs and lightning-fast transducers, the LTF design concept has enabled us to create a sound experience that goes well beyond the ordinary.
Lundahl LTF3280 is a high-end floorstanding loudspeaker. The LTF3280 do not contain any cross-overs or amplifiers: only some of the world’s best transducers in an extremely well-build and silent enclosure. The speakers are made of high density fibre board, rigorously internally braced, walls are constructed as laminates with viscoelastic glue in-between: the result is a rock solid cabinet with the purpose to reduce any unwanted radiation of sound. The outer part of the speakers front baffle is mechanically de-coupled from the speaker enclosure via viscoelastic springs. This further reduces vibrations and virtually eliminates and sound radiating from the front baffle. We call this FBC – Floating Baffle Concept. The FBC is further utilized by that it makes an ideal position for the tweeter. This design strategy is de-coupling the tweeter from any vibrations in the cabinet caused by the woofers. The FBC also enables a waveguide to be formed around the tweeter for the purpose of controlled directivity of the soundfield. The waveguide is also contributing with a small horn-loading to the tweeter in the critical region 1-4kHz, providing ultra-low distortion levels in an audio-band where human hearing is most sensitive. The LTF3280 base module is molded from a proprietary stone/polymer resin which is an acoustically inert material. The base module is equipped with Gaia speaker isolators. Four pairs of platinum coated WBT NextGen speaker terminals is firmly fixed to a precision machined 6mm thick aluminum back-plate for lossless connection of the speaker cables. The LTF3280 loudspeakers are designed to be combined with Lundahl Sound Systems products VC2361, Xact2361 and Power2331 and suitable power amplifiers.
VC2361 is a high performance volume control that enables up to six channels to be simultaneously attenuated in the analogue domain. This means, for instance, that digital cross-overs can operate at full bit-depth as no digital attenuation is needed. No bits are lost and hence the VC2361 enables full transparency, even at low listening levels.
The design is passive and fully balanced. The channel balance is <0.05dB between any channels at any level of attenuation.
The Xact2361 is a combined high-performance active cross-over and DSP engine, intended for use in high-end active loudspeaker systems. The Xact2361 provides class-leading audio performance by providing an extremely powerful DSP engine combined with a state-of-the-art DAC section. The Xact2361 accepts analogue or digital stereo inputs and outputs 6 balanced analogue outputs. For optimal performance and transparency the Xact2361 can preferably be combined with VC2361.
Power2331 is a linear low-noise power supply, that delivers 2 power rails to the analogue section and 1 power rail to the digital section of the Xact2361. Power2331 is designed for one purpose: to provide optimal conditions for the active cross-over and DSP engine Xact2361 to deliver a sublime audio experience.
The above products are offered by Lundahl Sound Systems as discrete components. However, they have originally been designed to be used in combination with each-other. The products are therefore preferably combined into one sound system. When combined, we call the resulting sound system for IKIGAI*.
*Ikigai is Japanese and has a meaning something in line with “your life purpose or your bliss. It’s what brings you joy and inspires you to get out of bed every day”
